I order Ramen, the taste is like indomie kaldu ayam, exactly like that and bingsu strawberry is okay, but not so special.
Another hugely disappointing fake Korean restaurant in Surabaya. At least Jakarta has a few authentic places actually run by Koreans, but this is yet another fake one. I honestly can’t believe the hype and the low standards of locals here believing this is authentic Korean food. What made me most angry was that they served 쉰김치 (stale Kimchi) as their main banchan, and when I pointed it out, they replaced it with freshly made kimchi straight away. That means they clearly knew the difference and knew exactly what they were serving. It’s a very dishonest and deceptive practice, tricking locals into thinking it’s fresh kimchi when it absolutely isn’t. The business seems to be doing well, so I genuinely don’t understand why they’re serving 쉰김치 as the main banchan. I looked around and every other table was getting the same 쉰김치 too wkwkwk. If the owner is too lazy to make fresh kimchi, then honestly don’t bother running a Korean restaurant. Kimchi is one of the staples of Korean cuisine. Knowingly serving 쉰김치 as a main side dish is honestly disgraceful. I also ordered 찹쌀 탕수육 and it was hard as a rock. I nearly broke my teeth biting into it. Then there was 왕갈비탕 — do they even know what 왕갈비 means? I got tiny normal-looking 갈비 pieces, so how can you call this 왕갈비탕? It’s another deceptive and dishonest menu label misleading locals. 왕갈비 literally means large beef rib pieces, and there were no large rib pieces at all. The soup was also incredibly bland. The 삼겹살 was okay, but honestly who can’t cook 삼겹살? You just buy the meat from the butcher and grill it lol. Ironically, their best dish was the 팥빙수. I’ll actually give them credit for that. Maybe they should just open a 팥빙수 프랜차이스 instead, because that genuinely seems to be the forte of this restaurant rather than disgracing Korean food and falsely labelling it as authentic Korean cuisine. I highly doubt the owner is Korean, but if he is, he should honestly be ashamed serving 쉰김치 like it’s fresh and using deceptive menu descriptions like this. It’s honestly sad that Surabaya still doesn’t seem to have a single truly authentic Korean restaurant. The city should really follow Jakarta’s lead more.

We reviewed our recent order records, but we could not find any customer who ordered 갈비탕, 찹쌀탕수육 , 삼겹살 and 팥빙수 together. Are you sure you visited our restaurant? If you did visit us, we would like to clarify a few things: 1. Kimchi Our restaurant makes kimchi in a 맛김치. As you may know, there are many different styles of kimchi in Korea. We do not serve 쉰김치(not 신김치?!) so we are not sure what kind of kimchi you were expecting. And in Korea, people usually say 신김치 , not 쉰김치 Honestly, it makes me question whether you are really Korean. 찹쌀탕수육 is originally prepared similarly to guobaorou, with a crispy starch coating and sauce poured over it. So maybe much crispy than 일반 탕수육. 3. 왕갈비탕 “Wang Galbitang” does not necessarily mean only large rib pieces. We originally served very large ribs, but many families and groups Ahjumma's kitchen preferred sharing the dish, so we now spend additional time and cost cutting the ribs into smaller portions to make them easier to eat and share. We are still using 왕갈비, but just because we cut them into smaller pieces for easier eating, should we change the name from "왕갈비탕" to "쪽갈비탕?" That would be even weirder. We are not falsely claiming to serve traditional Korean food. We have operated restaurants in Surabaya for many years and continuously work to make our food more enjoyable and comfortable for our customers. The owner is indeed Korean, and in fact, all 10 members of the owner’s family are Korean. We currently operate three restaurants under the same brand in Surabaya. We do not serve the kind of excessive food that would make someone deceive. We run our restaurant sincerely and thoughtfully. Not serving 겉절이 does not make a restaurant “non-traditional Korean.” We find the expression “deceptive” quite uncomfortable to hear. If our restaurant were truly as poor as described, we do not believe we could have successfully operated three branches for eight years while building such a loyal customer base, especially among many regular customers. Of course, not every restaurant will suit everyone’s taste, but judging whether we are qualified to run a restaurant simply because of the style of kimchi feels like an excessive criticism. We never falsely represent any of our dishes. It seems you may be someone planning to open a Korean restaurant in Surabaya after operating in Jakarta, and we sincerely hope you can leave reviews with proper etiquette and respect. From what I can see, many of your other reviews also go beyond criticism and become personal attacks. Just because you cannot see someone face-to-face and are writing on the internet does not mean it is okay to leave excessively harsh comments. Pantesan rame dan buka cabang dimana mana, ternyata emang enak dan worthed. Bingsoo nya enak, ga terlalu manis. Proper isiannya dan melimpah. Ayam gorengnya juga enak, medium isi 10 pc ayam. Krn sy pesan boneless dagingnya dada. Gorengnya merata matangnya dan kriuk. Dicocol saosnya enak, ga lebay tastenya. Pelayanan gercep scr karyawannya byk bgt
Disini selalu pesan Jjampong. Isinya mie berkuah ada udang , kerang dan cuminya. Enak banget. Kalo anak2 suka dgn ayam goreng ber saus manis. Jangan lupa pesan bingsu utk dessertnya
